What's the difference between an URL and a Domain Name?

What's the difference between an URL and a Domain Name?

A Uniform Resource Locator, URL, or Web address, is a standardised address name layout for some resource (such as a document or image) on the Internet. It provides the address for locating information on the Internet.
The following example illustrates the difference between a URL and a domain name:
URL: http://www.example.com
Domain name: example.com
      Subdomain: www
The domain name is made up of the domain + top level domain. eg.
Domain: example
Top level domain: com
So, in its simplest terms, the domain name is the overall web site identifier and the URL is the locator for a particular resource on the Internet. Most domain names point directly to an index file, so entering the domain name in the forum http://www.example.com will take you to the index or base home file for that web site (eg. http://www.example.com/index.php)

b)   Is it legal for a function f1 to call f2, which then calls f1?   Justify your answer.

c)   Write a ‘C’ function that returns the k-th digit from the right in the positive integer n. For

example, digit(829,1) returns  9, digit(829,3) returns  8. If k is greater than the number of

b)   Is i[a] same as a[i]?   Justify your answer.

c)   Write the following function:

Bool search(int a[], int n, int x);

Where a is an array to be searched, n is the number of elements in the array, and x is

the search key. “search” should return TRUE if x matches some element of a, FALSE if it

1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 18, 29, …

(5+10)

9.         Develop a flowchart and then write a program for analyzing a line of text stored in a file

by  examining  each  of  the  characters  and  displaying  into  which  of  several  different categories vowels, constants, digits, white spaces it falls. Count of the number of vowels, consonants, digits and white space characters.   Include an appropriate documentation in your program.

computer processor

Computer Basic

What is a processor?

The processor is a main component of a computer that is attached to the mother board. It is technically called the Central processing Unit or CPU for short. It is the brain of the computer because it processes all of the information and data. The bigger your processor, the faster your computer performs your tasks. If you have a 64 bit processor it would probably be reasonably fast as this is a new technology. We have also mentioned components of a computer in a basic computer terminology article.

Top Ten Tips To Improve System Speed

Top Ten Tips To Improve System Speed
1. Let your PC boot up completely before opening any applications.
2. Refresh the desktop afterclosing any application. This will remove any unused files from the RAM.
3. Do not set very large file size images as your wallpaper. Do not keep a wallpaper at all if your PC is low on RAM (less than 64 MB).
4. Do not clutter your Desktop with a lot of shortcuts. Each shortcut on the desktop uses up to 500 bytes of RAM
5. Empty the recycle bin regularly. The files are not really deleted from your harddrive until you empty the recycle bin.
6. Delete the temporary internet files regularly.
7. Defragment your hard drive once every two months. This will free up a lotof space on your hard drive and rearrange the files so that your applications run faster.
8. Always make two partitions in your hard drive.Install all large Softwares (like PSP, Photoshop, 3DS Max etc) in the second partition. Windows uses all the available empty space in C drive as virtual memory when your Computer RAM is full. Keep the C Drive as empty as possible.
9. When installing new Softwares disable the option of having a tray icon. The tray icons use up available RAM, and also slow down the booting of your PC. Also disable the option of startingthe application automatically when the PC boots. You can disable these options later on also from the Tools or preferences menu in your application.
10. Protect your PC from dust. Dust causes the CPU cooling fan to jam and slow down thereby gradually heating your CPU and affecting the processing speed. Use compressed air to blow out any dust from theCPU. Never use vacuum.
RAM IS THE WORKING AREA (DESKTOP) OF THE CPU, KEEPIT AS EMPTY AND UNCLUTTERED AS POSSIBLE!
